Yume Bitsu's Adam Forkner (with Franz Prichard, one of the group's two core members) kindly answered questions about that enigmatic story and much more during a recent e-mail interview.
According to the mythology, Yume Bitsu took a vessyl-induced trance pilgrimage to Dryystn, where we learned to further hone our skills at vessyl playing, and are devoted to bringing the ancient histories of this mystical land to the people of earth.
Yume Bitsu is in collaboration with the Portland/Tokyo band Hochenkiet (two cds on Roadcone Records, one produced by this guy who was in Faust, features ex members of Irving Klaw Trio).

Portland-based space-drone quartet Yume Bitsu play ambient rock music that could be the soundtrack to a psychedelic art film -- or a psychotropically stimulated excursion into the deep space of consciousness.
Yume Bitsu's spacious, airy epics fall around you in sheets, almost like a heavy rain of musical colors: cool, damp, haunting synth curtains fold around eerie, reverb-drenched guitar lines while dense, psychedelic percussive hailstones fall all about.
Yume Bitsu's compositions are primarily instrumental, though ethereal, melodious vocals enter the mix occasionally.

Yume Bitsu made the decision to not name the songs on their recent release, The Golden Vessyl of Sound.
So, Yume Bitsu advises you, the listener, to label the songs in order (Song One, Song Two, etc.) so that you have something to call them.

Blogcritics.org: Review: Yume Bitsu - The Golden Vessyl of Sound
Yume Bitsu, through their collective channeling of the Vessyl, has recreated (under my interpretive ear-mind complex) this feeling.
Yume Bitsu have explored this improv environmental ambient stuff on every album so far, and while it hard to judge as being good or bad--the listener (here, me) desires something new in the mix.

Traversing across celestial landscapes imbued with drifting, lilting sheets of ambient guitars, keyboard driven astral landscapes, in-your-face wall of fuzz and occasional harmonious soaring voice, Yume Bitsu effortlessly shift from one end of the psychedelic musical spectrum to the other, with surprisingly successful effect.
Yume Bitsu's process of creation, as it has developed over the last 7 years, is as intriguing as the music it creates.
Nowhere in their ever-growing catalog is that more apparent than on their remarkable fourth full-length, The Golden Vessyl of Sound.Familiar and signature drone-and-drift textures are present, but The Golden Vessyl of Sound finds Yume Bitsu expanding their compositional palette to experiment along a broader array of textures, with decidedly ample sonic rewards.

Yume Bitsu makes the wise decision of keeping most of their mythology in their liner notes instead of their songs.
By the time song seven, the first to actually narrate events described in the liner notes, comes along, its lyrics ("We are on the outer reaches of the city in the sky/The Moth Men carried him on gilded wing/The young prince of Dryystn has died") almost make sense.
Yume Bitsu is in the city in the sky and has taken us on a long and trippy journey through songs one through six to prove it.

Yume Bitsu: Auspicious Winds - PopMatters Music Review
Portland, Oregon's Yume Bitsu are one of the many musical outfits reaching into the upper layers of the atmosphere and beyond, trying to figure out what type of beautiful music might be floating around up there.
Judging by their third album, Auspicious Winds (their first for K; the other two were on Ba Da Bing), I'd put Yume Bitsu at the top of the list of musicians currently playing this type of music.
Yume Bitsu tread similar ground as some of the best musicians of the last couple decades, but they find their own way through it.

Actually, Yume Bitsu call themselves the "princes of psychedelic freedom (sound)"-that seems correct.
To quote Yume Bitsu’s website, "Early explorations of deeply intuitive improvisation led to the discovery of the Vessyl, a channel of collective energy that is greater than the whole of the creative egos of the performers involved." The name, Yume Bitsu, means dream beats.
Seems Yume Bitsu are developing a religion with their organs and softly strummed guitars and caressing voice boxes.

More than anything, Yume Bitsu creates a relaxed and thoughtful mood with their songs.

Who plays on what, and even the names of the songs themselves becomes irrelevant once the digital doorway is opened to Yume Bitsu’s The Golden Vessyl of Sound.
Fantasyland imagery and lysergic musical improvisation place Yume Bitsu within a long and proud prog-rock tradition.
Often, the guitars, samples, horns, voices, synths, laptops, beats, seagulls (and whatever else is handy to play) whitewash into symphonic waves of sound.
