  Researcher/Lectures/ Interkulturelle Rezeption am Beispiel Isang Yuns
Ich möchte hier einen Versuch unternehmen, das Komponieren Isang Yuns unter dem Aspekt des Interkulturellen bzw.
Grundlage dafür bietet einerseits eine Theorie musikalischer oder kompositorischer Interkulturalität, die ich in meiner Dissertation entwickelt habe, andererseits meine Erfahrungen als Komponist und Dirigent in der Kooperation mit ostasiatischen Musikern und Komponisten.
Bevor ich auf Isang Yun als konkretes Beispiel einer Anwendung dieses Theoriegerüsts eingehe, möchte ich kurz den Hintergrund dieser Kriterien oder Fragestellungen wenigstens andeuten.

The Korean composer Isang Yun (Yun Yi Sang) was born in 1917, the son of the distinguished Korean poet Yun Ki Hyon.
Isang Yun's participation in secret anti-Japanese activities in the war led to his imprisonment in 1943 and to a subsequent period in hiding.
Isang Yun did much to encourage contemporary music in North and South Korea, and his students included members of the younger generation of Korean composers, who worked with him in Hanover and in Berlin.

As a result of this moral and material pressure, South Korea released Yun and his wife after nearly two years of detention, and they returned to Germany.
He also held an honorary doctorate from the University of Tübingen, and was the recipient of the Goethe Medal of the Goethe Institute in Munich and the Distinguished Service Cross of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany.
