That is the remarkable record of Yvan Muller in the BTCC.
It is not 61 race victories (not even Yvan is that good, although with 35 to his name he is currently the joint-third most successful BTCC driver of all time, and needs just one more to equal Alain Menu).
The top ten finishers in the second race of the day are reversed to form the grid for the third race and it soon became clear that Muller had tenth, and therefore pole, in his sights.

From a season in Formula 3000 in 1993, Muller made the move to touring cars with BMW in France from 1994 to 1995, culminating in the Championship that year.
Yvan is the current king of the unique Andros trophy Ice Racing Series, having won the title for each of the past five years.
