The Z22 was the seventh computer model Konrad Zuse developed (the first six being the Z1, Z2, Z3, Z4, Z5 and Z11, respectively).
The Z22 operated at 3kHz operating frequency, which was synchronous with the speed of the drum storage.

We already knew this one was going to be on the low end of things, and it's listed as running Palm OS Garnet 5.4 and having 32MB of memory, a 160 x 160 color display, and a 200MHz processor.
Steve, throw that Z22 into a crowd of classified government contract engineers and it will be gone before you can SEE who to yell "Scab" at.
I went and bought some el-cheapo compaq armada 333mhz laptop for the task, and from what I've seen the Z22 would actually do BETTER than that dinosaur of a computer, and is excatly what I think Palm is shooting for.

If I were Palm I'd have considered cutting the RAM on the Z22 down to 16mb or even 8mb and trying to hit an even lower retail price point.
If nothing else, the Z22 is going to make the Treo 650 & TE2 look VERY bad with the same amount of memory but costing much more.
I didn't notice that the z22 does have a whooping 32MB of RAM compared to mid-level models and treos.

The memory installed may be the Z22's weakest point as it's a mere 32 MB with only 20 of that readily available for use and has no expansion slot.
Though the screen is bright and clear enough for reading documents and things of that nature, the low resolution results in menus that aren't as clear as other models and when viewing images, pixilation and imperfections are plain to see.
The lack of WiFi/Bluetooth support will be the biggest hindrance to those who constantly need to be connected in order to check their email while they're away from the office, though considering the price point of the Z22, the lack of these features is not a suprise.
