		As the war continues, ZAFT forces begin to intervene on behalf of these independence movements, liberating their homes and cities from Eurasian Federation control.
		ZAFT was originally a political organization called the Zodiac Alliance, which was founded in C.E. 50 by Siegel Clyne and Patrick Zala.
		The ZAFT forces are currently subject to the authority of the PLANT Supreme Council, and report directly to the chairman of the National Defense Committee.

	Zaft Buck Denied World Record
		The Zaft buck, which was shot in the bow-only zone near Edmonton, had been officially measured at 206 7/8 net typical and entered into P&Y's records at that score.
		At the time the Zaft buck was entered, the burning question was whether or not the club would accept the rack as a basic 6x5 typical.
		The Zaft buck will remain listed in the Alberta record book, which already has accepted the 206 7/8 score as submitted.

		The Earth Alliance and ZAFT, the fighting arm of the genetically enhanced humans known as Coordinators, are at war.
		The BuCue attack was mounted by Zaft leader Andrew Waltfeld, "The Desert Tiger." Like Treize Khushrenada in Gundam Wing, Waltfeld believes in the nobility of the warrior's calling: he captures Kira, then allows him to leave because he's such a worthy foe.
		Although the war is technically between the Earth Alliance and ZAFT, it's really a conflict between the human "Naturals" and the genetically enhanced "Coordinators." The movie and the broadcast series offer the ingredients of a classic Gundam saga: a reluctant warrior, a masked enemy general, and an old friend who tests the hero's loyalty.

		Well now since kira is pretty much the embodiment of godliness plus the influence of Lacus, not to mention the presumably large role of the clyne faction/peace loving moderates present in the reorganized zaft, the ranks are ceremonial to him.
		Kira in white ZAFT actually looks more like a BOSS character rather than a hero - which is very pleasing because his MS is really powerful now and his image has to keep up as well.
