The Sinclair ZX Spectrum was a home computer released in the United Kingdom in 1982 by Sinclair Research.
In Russia for example, ZX Spectrum clones were assembled by thousands of small start-ups and distributed though poster ads and street stalls.
Since ZX Spectrum had only rudimentary tape interface, data was recorded using an unusually simple and very reliable modulation similar to Pulse-width modulation but without constant clock rate.

The Spectrum loading software is not sensitive to the polarity of this bit (which it definitely should not be, not only because of this model difference, but also because you cannot be sure the tape recorder doesn't change the polarity of the signal recorded!).
This is the mode the Spectrum is normally in.
The normal Spectrum contains no hardware to place a byte on the bus, and the bus will therefore always read FF (because the ULA also doesn't read the screen if it generates an interrupt), so the resulting index address is 256*I+255.

There were quite a few Swedish home computer magazines but non entirely focused on sinclair computers and most of them had a very short life span.The most eager ZX Spectrum writer in Swedish magazines were as far as I remeber Clas Kristiansson (aka Attle Barktunga) that also wrote a few Swedish quilled adventures.
The most and probably only famous Swedish ZX Spectrum programmer was Bo Jangeborg with games like Fairlight I and II as well as The Artist.
The Spectrum Tape Loader (homepage, freeware)- a ZX Spectrum cassette to emulator format converter.I used this program to transfer my old JOYSTICK cassettes...(all you need is a PC with a soundcard,the old spectrum-tape cord, a decent tape player and your old speccy tapes).

In my youth I was a great fan of the Sinclair Spectrum, which was a marvellous little machine, and largely responsible for the home computer revolution in the UK at least.
I got a Spectrum emulator for my Risc PC and found a few snapshots of games on the Internet, and my interest was rekindled.
For example, a project by John Elliott involved writing JSW 128, a version of JSW for the 128K Spectrum (and emulators thereof) with new features, allowing more extensive games in the original style.

Various redesigned models of the Spectrum were marketed by Timex (they were called the Timex Sinclair) in the US, but the machine never achieved the same level of popularity as it did in the UK and other parts of Europe.

The keyboard/joystick combinations of the Spectrum are emulated using jog-dial, keys, and touchscreen of the P900.
The overall performance of the emulation loop is faster than the normal Spectrum, so that sometimes (at the end of a screen frame draw) a little pause is needed to keep the emulated machine speed to about 100% Spectrum speed.
I got from Marat explicit permission to use it in my Zx Spectrum emulator but I clearly state here again that the z80.h and z80extra.h source files are not covered by the GPL license.
