Doctor Who LogBook - Audio Adventures 2004   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-15)
Doctor Who and the Pirates' narrated framing structure, or Project Lazarus is more than welcome - the time bomb built into the plot adds a great deal of tension to the story, and just about the only science fiction element is an alien invasion that the listener knows is coming right from the start.
Doctor Who audio adventures have expressed a view that Colin Baker's portrayal of the Doctor is perfect for the kind of pseudo-historical stories that really vanished with William Hartnell's era, and they may well be right.
Once awakened, the Doctor is subjected to a kind of mind-probing technique by the Kro'Ka, but he quickly gains the upper hand on the interzone guardian, forcing it to tell him, at least in general terms, where the TARDIS is located.

Notes: The traditional Doctor Who opening theme is not heard at the beginning of the episode, and the story closes - rather unusually with the "Delaware Version" of the theme that the BBC Radiophonic Workshop prepared for the TV show's 1972 season, even though it was ultimately not used.
While she is away, the Doctor meets a man named Sebastian Grayle - a man both blessed and cursed with immoirtality, a man who knows that the Doctor is a Time Lord, and a man who claims to have killed him some with the help of his masters at some point in the Doctor's future.

Released this month are many titles to tempt the Doctor Who fanatic, but with large-format hardbacks, celebration novels, DVDs and CDs, the cash-strapped fan may be tempted to overlook this volume, chronicling and celebrating Big Finish's work in creating original full-length drama for everyone's favourite Time Lord.

The book assumes familiarity with the individual audios, meaning that the casual reader may become lost at mention of plot twists and the like, but this does not impede enjoyment.

The cat is affectionately termed "Schrödinger's Cat" due to his ability to be wherever his favorite person (in the case of the book, the narrator) is. His ability to walk through walls is due to the fact that Pixel does not know that it is impossible.
In the 40th anniversary Doctor Who audio book “Zagreus” produced by Big Finish and released in 2003, the Doctor is locked in a lead lined box that contains cyanide in an effort to explain his situation of being neither dead nor alive.

ZAGREUS audio Review Doctor Who DrWho
With ZAGREUS, release number fifty, the fortieth anniversary special, three discs, four doctors etc, you get the feeling this is the tale the BF crew have wanted to tell since 1999.
Beginning with Charley and McGann’s Eighth Doctor in the stricken TARDIS, (this follows the events of NEVERLAND, the previous Eighth Doc adventure) and ending on Gallifrey, this is a tale that, by the end of the story, changes the direction of the upcoming McGann ‘season’.
The characters that Davison, Baker and McCoy play in the audio feel like characatures of their Doctors (Davison- quiet, thoughtful, Baker- Dark, Cocky, McCoy- madcap, with a dark side) and despite the fact they barely play the time lords we know and love, that hardly feels out of place here.
