		You are correct to say it would be difficult to wield such a sword as the Zanbato and that's exactly the reason it was abbandoned to most men.
		If you look at it in that sense...really any weapon could be a reason to preserve peace, but still draws to the same conclusion they were made for the soul purpose of taking lives.
		I'm unsure of what you are trying to say about the "style's transmission", but as you said the Zanbato was indeed changed to the Odachi/Nodachi which is usually used on horseback to reach the opponent due to it's long reach and never intended to cut through enourmous armored men and horses.

		There are many "sci/fi fantasy styles of Zanbato but there was a real sword used in that time period by Samurai, if the Odachi and Nodachi were actually a Zanbato, they would simply be called Zanbato instead of their current names.
		While I say again, the Zanbato LOOKS SIMILAR to the Suburi and was used to cut through thick armor and whole men.
		I'm begining to think that the term "odachi" is a much more general term in use for swords between the katana or tachi range of things, rather than its own measurements.

		Enough, IMO, to justify swinging a full second slower (for the normal zanbato)
