 | | Zanjan, Oct 30, IRNA -- A court in this northwestern city has banned a weekly from publication for printing stories, deemed defamatory to top Iranian officials and the Islamic Republic, and condemned its editor to a two-year suspended jail term. |
 | | The court had initially condemned Ja'far Karami, the managing director of the weekly Amin-Zanjan (Zanjan trustee), to 91 days in jail, but turned it to suspended imprisonment, considering the fact that he was a war disabled, provincial judge Ahmad Khatami said. |
 | | The editor is further charged with "creating schism among people's ranks" and trying to pit them against each other, he added. |
