I was not that familiar with him or his music at the time, but he was so funny, eloquent, and intelligent as a speaker that his many "words" made a major impression on me that day.
In this interview conducted on March 16, 1986, Frank Zappa talked further about his appearance before the US Congress and his involvement in the fight against censorship.
Zappa let his driver's license lapse and never made the time to renew it.

Zappa's explanation was that the multitrack tapes of the album had deteriorated so badly that the original rhythm tracks were unusable, but the criticism evidently had an effect and several years later he released a second CD version of the album, this time prepared from the original two-track safety master.

The last and, according to Zappa, most accurate performance of his classical pieces was by a German group called the Ensemble Modern, recorded in concert on The Yellow Shark and in rehersal on the recently released Everything is Healing Nicely.
But Zappa's use of the instrument reached its peak on the album that many consider to be his magnum opus, Civilization Phaze III.

Many think that "Stink-Foot" is not a highlight, and while I understand that point of view (since it fills a fifth of this 32-minute album and doesn't have a compositional quality like the other songs) I still find it highly entertaining and needed because of its groove.
It was almost a badge of honor to have a Zappa album, as people felt your intelligence was superior to theirs.
