Topic: Zaru

Zaru - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Zaru (Japanese: įŽŠ or ざる) is a draining basket made from bamboo used in the preparation and presentation of Japanese food.
Additionally, well designed zaru can be used to present food directly, as for example zaru soba.
Similar to the makisu, a zaru should be allowed to dry well after use and stored in a dry place to extend the lifespan of the tool and to avoid the growth of bacteria and fungi on the mat.

Palestine Center - Media and Christian Right Reward State Terrorism, Attack Resistance
The media, Zaru asserted, failed to recognize that equating resistance with terrorism is inappropriate since “international law allows resistance against occupation.” Strengthening Israeli claims that the Palestinians are a belligerent people, the media have ignored the 85 percent of Palestinians who do not use violent means in their struggle for liberation.
Zaru contended that Israel is “not adhering to international laws,” denying Palestinians the most basic human rights during the ongoing siege of the Occupied Territories.
Despite this, Zaru remains optimistic, believing that eventually “Palestinian grief has to penetrate the numbness of history and the consciousness of the world.” She also believes that soon people will comprehend that the non-violent approach is an effective tool for all forms of liberation.

The only resistance is outcasts, people not welcome in the Zaru communities or worship halls, for they have committed the worst sin of all, the taking of human life, and discovered a dark knowledge the elders cannot bear.
Zaru's greatest asset became her downfall, though: the language of zu, the language of creation, spread beyond her borders and infected the world.
Zaru's people were taken as slaves and made to work in the worst sort of hot, steamy, swampy conditions.

Although Shohat, the Israeli Jew, made a weak attempt to challenge Zaru on the ethnic cleansing charge, she allowed all the other false accusations against Israel to pass, implicitly condoning them.
