Zbruch River (Ukrainian: Збруч) is a river in Western Ukraine (length: 247 km, basin: 3330 sq.km.), a left tributary of Dniester.
It flows within the Podolia Upland (see Podolia).
Zbruch is the namesake of Zbruch idol, a sculpture of a Slavic deity (10th century) in the form of a column with the head with four faces, found in 1848 by the river.

The town where Louis was baptized, Husiatyn, is literally on the old Polish - Ukrainian border.
The River Zbruch that runs through the town was the border, and the remnants of an old customs house are located near the bridge as you come into Husiatyn from Khmelnitsky Oblast.
We took plenty of pictures on the visit there.
