oosterschelde - Article and Reference from OnPedia.com
Oosterschelde (Eastern Scheldt) is an estuary in Zeeland, the Netherlands, between Schouwen-Duiveland and Tholen on the north and Noord-Beveland and Zuid-Beveland on the south.
In Roman times it was the major Scheldt mouth, but the Kreekrak strait, its connection to the Scheldt river, silted up and became unnavigable; eventually, it was closed off with a railway dam in 1903, connecting in the process the island of Zuid-Beveland to the mainland of North Brabant.
Between Schouwen-Duiveland and Noord-Beveland there are two road connections, the Oosterscheldedam on the west and the Zeeland Bridge on the east.

The "Zeeland" class Aerial Defence Ship   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-20)
Designed for local defence, the sister vessels Zeeland and Holland sacrifice speed and range to enable them to carry a respectable armament and degree of protection on as small a hull as possible.
Main armament comprises two 8" guns in a large turret mounted forward of the bridge; secondary armament is a single 6" gun in a ventral turret and a pair of 4" guns in side sponsons.
Their low speed is certainly an obvious weakness of the Zeeland class, but since they are likely to be used only in defensive positions, this is not such a disadvantage as it would be in offensive actions.
