Zejtun is a medium sized town in the south of Malta, which has 11,379 ħamalli (as per 1995 census), with 13,133 inhabitants projected for 2010.
Zejtun possesses the title of Città Beland, which was conferred by Ferdinand von Hompech, the Grandmaster of Knights of Malta in 1797.
Zejtun passed the British-rule of the Maltese islands as a rural-backwater in the green fields of the Mazza Valley - it had one of the many hospitals in Malta for wounded British and French soldiers in the First World War, which earned the island the nickname of the Nurse of the Mediterranean.

The article described the incidents that happened on the 2 of June, 1989 when Mary Abdilla was to marry at the Zejtun parish church.
He denied that the car was driven in an arrogant manner because it was not physically possible that one could have driven in such a way because of the people there were on the road.
Rizzo had said that when he and Bartolo had arrived in Zejtun there were around 200 or 300 people on the road, so one had to drive slowly.

Zejtun council is at present composed of seven Labour councillors and two Nationalists.
Considering that most of the 13,000 who would have voted in Zejtun and Marsa would have done so for the MLP, Labour is right to say that the results obtained by the two parties will be closer, since the elections in these two localities will not be held.

Notwithstanding the fact that Zejtun is not included and advertised as a tourist attraction, a considerable number of tourists, mostly interested in cultural heritage, still visit the town on their own initiative.
Zejtun Mayor, Mr Joe Attard made reference to the work which the local council embarked on during the past years in order to attract tourists to Zejtun.
The Zejtun Local Council is also planning to open a Centre for Arts and Crafts with the aim of exhibiting the local traditional crafts popular at Zejtun.

Ġużeppina Deguara was born at Zejtun in 1865.
At twenty-six years of age she was appointed by the Education division to teach at the girls' primary school in Zejtun.
In 1930 she rented her own house, which at that time was situated in 22, Zejtun Road, and came to live in Marsaxlokk for the rest of her life.

During a meeting on Monday 16th April 1928 Anton Caruana with the support of Karmenu Grima proposed to establish a jazz band.

The procession starts at the tiny chapel of St Clement on the outskirts of Zejtun.
The origins of this procession are lost in time, but according to local tradition it was first held as a thanksgiving to God for his intervention to halt the Bubonic Plague which killed some 11,000 Islanders between 1675-6.

 Zejtun Band Club celebrates its anniversary with style
The Zejtun Band Club is presenting a Vocal and Symphonic program on the occasion of its seventieth anniversary from its inception, way back in the turbulent 1933.
The program, which will take place in the Pandora Theatre in Zejtun, will be performed on Sunday 23rd November, 2003 at 7.30 p.m.
The program is made up of nine musical delicacies, including popular foreign masterpieces, like the "Nessun Dorma" (Puccini), "Intermezzo Barcarolla" (Offenbach), "Quartetto" (from Verdi's Rigoletto) and a moment for Morricone as well as local compositions from the well-established pens of Mro.
