		The name is after Zemplín castle which was built on Slavic hill-fort on the side of Bodrog river north from Somotor lt was the oldest castle built before tartar incrusion.
		Previous regional administrative unit Zemplin spreaded on areas of present district Humenné, Medzilaborce, Snina, Trebišov Vranov nad Topľou, the most east part of Stropkov and west part of Michalovce, continuing to Hungary pending the mouth of Bodrog and Slaná with Hornád.

	Onda Name Evolution
		Second, I thought of the 9th–10th century Magyar tribal leader Ond, whose name is associated with lower Zemplin, and particularly with the village of Ond.
		Even in the case of upper Zemplin, which was already predominantly Slavic, persons of Hungarian origin or ancestry appear to have made up a part of the population in some localities, including Hrabovce nad Laborcom and Stropkov during the 16th century when the Onda and Unda names, respectively, were recorded there.
		The Ondava is one of the major arteries of the upper Tisa (Tisza) river area, and stretches from lower Zemplin at Trebišov north to Stropkov and then northwest into Šariš, where it becomes the Ondavka toward its headwaters.

	Syphilis Patients on the Rise in East
		Ondrej Bobik, head of the STD clinic in Trebiov Hospital in the eastern Slovak town of Trebiov, believes the increasing number of syphilis patients in southern Zemplin is a regional phenomenon resulting from the social and political changes after the fall of communism.
		While in previous years, the hospital treated three to four patients for syphilis annually, the hospital has treated several dozen such cases since the beginning of 2002.
		Trebiov Hospital treats patients from the southern Zemplin area in the southeast of the country.
