		With Zenyatta Mondatta, it's clear that the punk-influenced material has gone by the way side, with something more unique coming through, a style that would become honed to the ultimate in their Synchronicity album.
		Zenyatta Mondatta shows the Police reaching out more to the mainstream, a step that would near closer in Ghost In The Machine and come to fruition in their swansong, Synchronicity.
		Zenyatta doesn't display nearly as much of the dark side that Ghost In The Machine and, to a lesser extent, Synchronicity do, although the beginnings of that sound do show up in songs like Driven To Tears.

		Zenyatta Mondatta is the third album by The Police, released in 1980 (see 1980 in music).
		Written during the band's second tour and recorded in just four weeks (minus several days for a short tour of the Netherlands), the album is often regarded as one of their best works.
		Zenyatta Mondatta is also notable for containing the first lyrics referring to political events, with Sting's "Driven To Tears" commenting on poverty and Copeland's "Bombs Away" referencing the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan.
