Zenzizenzizenzic - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Zenzizenzizenzic is the eighth power or exponent of a number.
For example the zenzizenzizenzic of 2 is 256.
Zenzizenzizenzic has more Z's than any other known word in the English language.

 Varieties of Unreligious Experience: Zenzizenzizenzic
Well, here is the ultimate museum-piece: 'zenzizenzizenzic', which means 'a number raised to the eighth power'.
Thus, 9 is a zenzic number, 81 zenzizenzic, and 6561 zenzizenzizenzic.
Also, as 27 is a cubic, we can say that 729 is a zenzicubic, 531441 is a zenzizenzicubic, 387420489 is a zenzicubicubic, etc. A simple googlement will demonstrate the common fetishization of this word, and words like it: it has become stuffed or ossified, removed from the language.

 Weird Words: Zenzizenzizenzic
Recorde, like his predecessors, represented a fourth power by the square of a square, zenzizenzic, which is just a condensed form of the Italian censo di censo, used by Leonardo of Pisa in his famous book Liber Abaci of 1202.
An eighth power was by obvious extension zenzizenzizenzic.
And similarly the sixth power was zenzicube, the square of a cube.

An interesting thing to note is that the most significant shortening by abbreviation is that of ``El Pueblo de Nuestra Senora la Reina de los Angeles de Porciuncula'' to ``LA'' (not that the city has gone by that name in hundreds of years).
But, given that ``zenzizenzizenzic'' isn't in the Oxford English Dictionary, I'll have to call foul on that one.
according to this the word ZENZIZENZIZENZIC is no longer used, that is why it doesn't appear in the oxford english dictionary.

I wanted to show her two treasures in my room, namely a beloved Navarre Society edition of Gargantua and Pantagruel, illustrated by Heath Robinson, and even better, still the most beautiful illustrated book in my collection, a near-fine, full-colour reprint, in quarter-leather with marbled boards and slipcase, of J. Grandville's 1844 Un Autre Monde.
She was never as taken as I with this volume; in fact I've never really convinced anyone of its zenzizenzizenzic wealth.
And perhaps it's hard fully to love Grandville's engravings and fabular vignettes without having discovered them through Walter Benjamin's Passagenwerk, which by context invests his images so pregnantly with meaning and feeling—rich, urbane, authentic bourgeois feeling—as to make them irresistible to the eye and to the heart.

The Mavens' Word of the Day
I have found the word "zenzizenzizenzic" in a couple of places on the Web, defining it as "the eighth power of a number"--could you tell if this is a real word, and if so where it comes from?
Yes, it's a real word, and yes, though you didn't ask, its continued existence is due solely to the fact that it's really weird-looking, not because it's useful or common or anything like that.
It is found in several derived forms, including zenzicube 'the square of the cube; the sixth power of a number', your zenzizenzizenzic, and others.
