 Technology - Zero Point Module
A Zero Point Module or equivalent power source is required for a Stargate to establish a wormhole to a gate in another galaxy.
It is possible to construct a version of the device from Earth-based materials, as Jack O'Neill (under the influence of the Ancients' library of knowledge) once did to reach the Asgard when he needed their aid.
The module was later used to power the Stargate for the Atlantis expedition's long-distance journey to the Pegasus Galaxy.

  Zero-point energy Summary
Because the kinetic energy of a moving particle is proportional to the square of its velocity, it cannot be zero either.
These ZPMs, which extract energy from small artificially-created subspaces, are used to power the technology of the Ancients, such as the energy shield which protects the city of Atlantis.
A Zero Point Module can also provide a Stargate with sufficient power to allow travel to another galaxy, or significantly increase the speed of a starship equipped with suitable hyperdrive engines.

Zero Point Module - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
A ZPM is capable of generating immense amounts of energy by utilizing zero point energy which derives from a phenomenon known as the quantum foam (subatomic wormholes opening and closing constantly in and out of subspace).
ZPM technology was created by the Ancients, and like many types of Ancient technology, it appears to be crystal-based.
This device was clearly not a Zero Point Module, since it used the liquid Naqahdah fuel cell from Teal'c staff weapon, whereas ZPMs extract vacuum energy from subspace.

Zero Point Module (ZPM) - StargateWiki
Theoretically the ZPM should never become depleted, but since all mechanical devices have imperfections, it is likely there is a miniscule amount of loss in the system that eventually leads to the last of the energy leaving the ZPM.
The crystalline nature of a ZPM is similar to other forms of Ancient technology, but is a likely nod to the third law of thermodynamics (entropy of a system approaches a minimum value or zero in case of a perfect crystalline substance).
A ZPM was discovered in the Pegasus Galaxy powering an energy field that disabled advanced technologies (based upon the events, it seems designed against Wraith technology, which probably means the field was designed as a sanctuary against the Wraith).

The cut-off point in the future is determined by the C library; for Unix, it is typically in 2038.
The precision, and in fact the very definition of the meaning of ``processor time'', depends on that of the C function of the same name, but in any case, this is the function to use for benchmarking Python or timing algorithms.

Abstract: While the concept of Zero Point Energy is not new, the television show Stargate brings up an interesting implementation of this idea through what are called Zero Point Modules (or ZPMs), a seemingly infinite energy source that could last a very long time generating significant amounts of power.
Zero Point Energy or ZPE is the lowest possible energy state that a Quantum Mechanical System can possess.
Zero Point Energy has the problem of being potentially infinite, however this has not been established either experimentally or theoretically.

He later adjusted the freezing point of water from 30°F to 32°F, thus making the interval between the freezing and boiling points of water an even 180 degrees (and making body temperature the familiar 98.6°F).
Celsius chose the melting point of ice and the boiling point of water as his two reference temperatures to provide for a simple and consistent method of thermometer calibration.
The Kelvin scale is based on the idea of absolute zero, the theoretical temperature at which all molecular motion stops and no discernable energy can be detected (see the Matter: States of Matter lesson for more information).

 Gantry Robot Device Module
The standard gantry robot module is designed to control a five or six degree-of- freedom gantry robot which consists of three mutually perpendicular linear joints and a two or three degree-of-freedom revolute wrist.
When joint 4 is positioned at zero degrees and the skew angle is –90 degrees, the joint 5 axis of rotation will be parallel with the world Y axis and a positive rotation of joint 5 will rotate the robot's end effector in a direction opposite to positive rotation around the world Y axis.
The gantry robot module requires that joints 4, 5, and 6 be designed such that the axis of rotation of all three joints intersect at a single point.

 Dynamic Module Interface Definition
A module is comprised of 3 components : the module header, the module implementation, and the optional C library providing the module functionality.
The module header is used to inform the LVM of the functions available in the module and the calling requirements of each of the module functions.
The modLoadModuleFunctions() routines is passed the Module Pointer (the pointer to the dynamically loaded object as passed to init_mod() by the LVM) and the module's interface definition from the module's header file.
