		It is often alleged that Zeta Reticuli is home to an alien civilization that has been visiting Earth and abducting humans for various reasons, those more commonly referred to as the Greys.

		Another theory which involves Zeta Reticuli, is the claim that there was a secret exchange program ("Project Serpo") of 12 men from Earth traveling to Serpo, allegedly a planet in Zeta Reticuli.

		The high proper motion of this system was probably discovered by Willem Jacob Luyten (1899-1994), who found the proper motions of over 520,000 stars despite the loss of sight in one eye since 1925 by building an automated photographic plate scanner and measuring machine.
		As Zeta1 Reticuli has become one of the top 100 target stars for NASA's planned Terrestrial Planet Finder (TPF), images of this star and its position relative to the Milky Way in Earth's night sky are now available from the TPF-C team.
		The pair is now thought to be part of the Zeta Herculis stellar moving (kinematic) group of high velocity stars as defined by Olin J. Eggen in 1958, which no longer includes Zeta Herculis itself (del Peloso et al, 2000).

		According to the Yale Calalogue, Zeta 1 Reticuli is a G2 V star and Zeta 2 Reticuli is a G1 V star.
		The proper motions of both Zeta 1 Reticuli and Zeta 2 Reticuli are almost the same and the radial velocity (speed the star is moving towards or away from us) is also listed as the same in the Yale Calalogue.
		Another paper with some info on Zeta Reticuli is "On the Physical Existence of the Zeta Her Moving Group: A Detailed Analysis of Phi 2 Pavonis" by Porto De Mello and Da Silva (Astronomical Jornal, Vol 102, p1816, 1991).

		Well, a Google search for "Zeta Reticuli" gets you a giant list of sites offering all manner and variety of information about this binary system and its pasty inhabitants (even an alien cookbook, apparently not entitled "To Serve Man...).
		In the case of Zeta Reticuli, which already is a binary, detecting a planet in an orbit around this system, or around one of the component stars, would be rather more complex than in other cases, if possible at all.
		Zeta is still probably in my kill file.....
