Rus: Folk Musik Instruments - Part 1
The zhaleika is the most commonly owned and used Russian folk wind instrument.
Brelka was originally only a regional name for a zhaleika, until Andreev began to use the term to distinguish the 2-reeded instrument from the 1-reed zhaleika.
The chanter is called a "zhaleika", being functionally equivalent to that instrument.

Some zhaleikas can be "cross-fingered" for a couple of additional accidentals, but some cannot.
However, the "sound" of the volynka has been preserved both in the zhaleika (which has allowed the playing technique to be preserved as well) and to some extent by the droning sound of the hurdy-gurdy (known in Russia as the "kolesnaia lira").
The brelka (pronounced "brIOl-ka") is a double-reeded zhaleika; a sort of diatonic "folk oboe." Most I've seen have a (wooden) bell which narrows back down at the end like a bulb or egg, but some recent instruments just have a larger tubular section at the end past the fingered part of the barrel...

 Pibgorn (instrument) at AllExperts
The Welsh Pibgorn is mentioned in the laws of Hywel Dda (codified 940â€"50) which specify that every master employing a pencerdd (chief musician) should give him the necessary harp, crwth and pibgorn.
However the instrument is almost certainly older than that, and is part of a pattern of distribution of similar reedpipes that includes the Russian zhaleika, double reedpipes from the Arab world like the Lebanese Mijwiz, the Indian Been or Pungi and the Roman Sambuca.
It is likely that at one time the instrument existed across the British Isles (Robbie Burns tried to track down surviving Scottish players) but by the early nineteenth century seemed restricted only to Anglesey.
