Ziarat district is bordered on the north by the districts of Pishin, Loralai and Killa Saifullah, on the south by Sibi district, on the east by Loralai, and to the west by Pishin and Sibi district.
Although the district’s population is estimated to have increased by 63 percent during 1981-95, the average household size in 1995 would not necessarily be higher in the same proportion Because of some decline in the incidence of joint family, a large number of dwelling units have been constructed in the district during 1981 - 95.

This project is being implemented by the UC Perowal, District Khanewal, with the financial support of the Khanewal Golden Papers Pvt Ltd. Work on this project started in June 2004; however, it was stopped soon after due to non-compliance of the UC with the program's guidelines for procurement and contracting.
The project is located in village Kach, in District Ziarat, and is being implemented by a partnership involving the District Government Ziarat, a Private Entrepreneur and citizen community board (CCB) of the village Kach.
The committee, on the request of the District Nazim, decided that the project will be completed by the DG, where the USAID contribution will remain at its initial level and the DG would make up for its own as well as the primary partner's contribution.

A three day Journalism Journalism Training Workshop for district correspondents from various parts of Balochistan was organized by Pakistan Press Foundation (PPF), in collaboration with The Asia Foundation (TAF) at Ziarat from June 26 - 28, 2004.

Under the government's policy Sui gas facility was being provided to the inhabitants residing in the areas of gas fields on priority basis, he added.

QUETTA, March 6: Ziarat District Nazim Sardar Ehsanullah Domar said on Sunday that torrential rain and heavy snowfall in the valley had caused heavy losses to people in the valley but the provincial government had done nothing to help them.
Speaking at a press conference at the press club, the nazim said hundreds of mud-houses were destroyed and thousands of cattle head killed in the rain.
He said the provincial government had neglected Ziarat while providing aid to the victims because of wrong reports submitted by local officials.
