Senegalese forces with the help of Moroccan specialists destroyed 13 anti-personnel and 15 anti-tank mines plus 11 grenades and mortars over 84 kilometres (52 miles) in the region of Ziguinchor, the army said.
Landmines have threatened the lives of civilians in the Casamance region since rebels began fighting for independence there in 1982.
