 | | Standing in front of a group of 12 children, Zina Bethune - dressed in leotards, leg warmers and a well-worn ballet slippers - strikes a pose, arms out in what she calls a "fat shape," and instructs the kids to follow her lead. |
 | | Zina, 42, has made it her life's mission to help children with physical and mental disabilities discover the dance within themselves. |
 | | (Zina's various ailments are unrelated to one another.) There is no cure, and to this day, when she is not dancing she must wear thick rubber tights on her legs to prevent fluid from accumulating, which could lead to infectious lymphodema, a potentially fatal condition. |
