Zita of Bourbon-Parma (German: Zita von Bourbon-Parma) (May 9, 1892 - March 14, 1989) was the last Empress of Austria and Queen of Hungary.
She was born as HRH Zita Maria delle Grazie Adelgonda Micaela Raffaela Gabriella Giuseppina Antonia Luisa Agnese Princess of Bourbon-Parma in Villa Pianore near Lucca in Italy.
Zita married Karl of Austria in 1911 and in the following decade gave birth to eight children, starting with Crown Prince Otto (born 1912), the current head of the Habsburg dynasty.

Karl was the son of Otto Franz of Austria (1865-1906) and Princess Josepha of Saxony (1867-1944), he was also a nephew of Archduke Franz Ferdinand, whose assassination triggered World War I.

The Pope also declared 21 October, the date of Karl's marriage in 1911 to Princess Zita, as Karl's feast day.

Born on Aug. 17, 1887, in Persenbeug, Austria, Charles was the eldest son of Archduke Otto and grandson of Emperor Franz Joseph I. When his uncle, Archduke Franz Ferdinand was assassinated, and Franz Joseph died, Charles was proclaimed emperor of Austria and king of Hungary in 1916, while World War I was in progress.
Five years earlier, Charles had married Princess Zita of Bourbon-Parma, who on their wedding day said: "Now we must take each other to heaven." They had eight children.
During the ceremony of publication of the decree of heroic virtues, Cardinal José Saraiva Martins, prefect of the Congregation for Sainthood Causes, described Charles as a "man of solid faith, who always sought the good of his people, and in his governance was inspired by the social doctrine of the Church."
