  Zounds Biography - AOL Music
Zounds were an anarchist post-punk band with an altogether gloomier and more polished sound than the abrasive crash'n'bash of their mentors in Crass.
Formed in 1977, Zounds was the brainchild of bassist/vocalist Steve Lake, a native of Reading who'd moved to Oxford and lived in a squatters community.
Crass signed Zounds to its own Crass label, and in 1980 issued the band's three-song debut single, "Can't Crash Karma"/"War"/"Subvert." Crass' Penny Rimbaud, who produced the single, had Zounds use a session drummer on the single, as Porter wasn't quite up to speed technically yet.

No Doves Fly Here: The Mob
Amidst a volatile punk rock scene, the Mob, along with bands like Rudimentary Peni saw no hope in the future, and certainly not in the present.
Punk music had hit its second wave, and bands like Crass and Conflict were making a political statement with music, turning punk into an anarchist movement - for real, fusing political theory into the lyrics of their music and creating the anrcho-punk genre.
Some of the other English post punk bands that shared a similiar vision musically and lyrically with The Mob were the Southern Death Cult, UK Decay, Theatre of Hate, and Flux of Pink Indians, not to forget Rudimentary Peni.

Their frequent and particularly intense live shows they managed to become one of the most active rock bands of the era, despite the difficulties (read: no infrastructure) that bands would encounter at the time.
Lyrics-wise, the band touches upon all faces of modern life and mostly on things that all of us recognize but rarely bother to comment on (and typically pretend to not recognize at all).
Grover can in no way be termed the absolute greek punk band rather, they created a record of a certain punk aesthetic, in terms of both the music and the lyrics.

One thing that I've learned about crummy sound quality on CD is that you can't always go blaming the band for it; there are so many places the record company can screw the master tape's sound up before it gets to you that it's a wonder that anything is listenable.

With the band's music evolving from jam sessions and free experimentation into more conventional song structures, there had to be a new concern about the process of lyric writing and what was to be written about.

By the bands' own account this was a drunken debacle, ending in the group being ejected from the stage, and immortalised by their song "Banned from the Roxy" and Rimbaud's essay Crass at the Roxy [1].
This led to further introspection within the band, with some members feeling that they were beginning to become embittered as well as losing sight of their essentially positive stance.
For the band's part, they have stated that their musical antecedents and influences were seldom drawn from the rock music tradition, but rather from classical music (particularly Benjamin Britten, from who, Rimbaud states, some of Crass' riffs are direct plagiarisms!), dada and the avant-garde such as John Cage as well as performance art traditions.
