Zupanja is a border town with Bosnia and Herzegovina, which are divided by the River Sava.
The tower houses the Zupanja Museum with archeological, palaeonthological, ethnograpahic, and historical collections from the Zupanja area.
Also of interest in town is the main square with a monument, which commemorates the introduction of football and tennis to Zupanja.

ZUPANJA, Aug 7 (Hina) - Three civilians were wounded, one of whom seriously, in an attack of Bosnian breakaway Serbs against Zupanja, eastern Croatia, this afternoon.
Serbs, situated on the occupied right bank of the Sava, shelled Zupanja and nearby Bosnjaci and Gradiste at 05:00 pm Monday.
An air alert was sounded in Zupanja and Babina Greda at the same time.
