Robert Armin - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Robert Armin, the second fool of the Lord Chamberlain’s Men, changed the part of the clown or fool from the rustic serving man turned comedian to that of a high-comedy domestic wit.
Armin was a clown for two theatres, a writer of ballads, plays, and studies on foolery, and one of the most important comic actors in the history of western theatre.
Armin drew upon the history of the clown, the home-grown stock of natural idiots in England, and on his education to create and help create motley fools which surpass anything in that kind before or since.

Mohsen Armin told his fellow lawmakers that the dissolution of the Iran Freedom Movement (IFM) and the jailing of 33 of its members came "at a time when we are a constant target of American criticisms on human rights (practices) and the lack of political and social openness."
Armin also criticized recent statements by members of the leadership calling for Iranians to be ready for an armed conflict with the United States, saying it was "a form of incitement".
On July 27, 33 members of the banned but long tolerated IFM were sentenced to up to 10 years in jail and the party was dissolved.

Secret world of the suburban cannibal - www.theage.com.au
Armin Meiwes used to be a nondescript, polite, middle-aged, even sensitive German computer nerd, or so his friends and neighbours say, but now the world knows him as the Rotenburg Cannibal or the Hesse Hannibal.
Armin Meiwes is currently on trial in Germany for killing and eating 43-year-old engineer Bernd-Jurgen Brandes.
It is tempting to think of Meiwes as a total aberration, a throwback to the kind of savage society fiercely debated by anthropologists in academic texts on the Aztecs (who had a taste for eating their enemies) or Australian Aborigines (a colonial myth perpetuated for political reasons, argues respected Australian researcher Michael Pickering).

Meiwes also is accused of "disturbing the peace of the dead" for carving up the body, whose various parts he froze in shrink-wrapped packages, police said.
Meiwes made a detailed confession at the opening of his murder trial, saying he carried out the killing with the victim's consent and not for sexual satisfaction.

Armin was also a writer; his works include three jest-books, Phantasma, the Italian Tailor and his Boy (1609); Quips upon Questions; A Nest of Ninnies; and a play, The Two Maids of Moreclacke.

Armin's fools cause the audience to reflect on what it is to be a part of the human condition; but, in a way that also establishes his characters as perpetual outsiders who reflect on but do not become a part of the dance of reconciliation at the end of the play.
Armin became a counter-point to the themes of the play and the power relationships between the theatre and the role of the fool--he manipulates the extra dimension between play and reality to interact with the audience all the while using the themes of the play as his source material.

Meiwes insisted throughout the trial that the death had been part of a mutual pact rooted in sado-masochistic homosexual fantasy.
Meiwes claimed in court that his lonely childhood had led him to create "Franky" - an imaginary brother who listened to him.
At the start of his trial in December, Meiwes said his motive for killing and eating his victim, Bernd Juergen Brandes, was born from a desire for this younger brother he never had - "someone to be part of me".

German Cannibal Trial Opens in Complexity Germany Deutsche Welle 03.12.2003
Armin Meiwes, the computer technician who killed and ate a willing victim he met over the Internet, stands accused of "murder for sexual satisfaction," a charge brought against him because cannibalism is not technically illegal under German law.
The trial of Armin Meiwes, the cannibal who killed and ate a willing victim, began in the German town of Kassel on Wednesday with experts keenly watching the complex case which many believe could make legal history.
As Meiwes passed a psychiatric examination which found that he was not insane, they believe that his actions took advantage of the state of mind of Brandes and are therefore pushing for a charge of murder motivated by sexual urges to be applied.
