David Hume's Theory of Mind, Ch. 8
If the copy theory were a part of a more general theory, then, although one might provide inductive evidence for the truth of the copy theory, the copy theory of ideas would be deemed adequate if and only if the theory of which it is a part were adequate.
If Hume recognized that his bundle theory of mind lacked explanatory completeness and, as a consequence, he rejected it in favor of a mere lawful description of the operations of the mind, this constitutes such a subtle shift.
Beginning with the plea that ‘no offence may be taken in charging [Hume's bundle theory] or any other metaphysical notions with absurdity, or being contrary to the common sense of mankind’ (Reid 1970: 31-2), he proceeds to argue that ‘Ideas seem to have something in their nature unfriendly to other existences’ (Reid 1970: 33).

 Mind
This would be the view of someone who held a bundle theory about the mind.
The view of common sense, it seems, is opposed to a bundle theory of the mind.
David Hume was very famous for advocating a bundle theory of mind (though the interpretation of Hume on this point is often one of some controversy) and for arguing forcefully against the idea of mental substance.

 bundletheory
According to the so-called "bundle theory," a concrete particular is a composite consisting of attributes alone.
One place where a bundle theory might be attractive is in accounting for phenomenal particulars, i.e., particulars that are the proper objects of awareness, or at least, certain sorts of awareness.
Castaneda was willing to generalize his bundle theory of individuals account to all phenomenal objects, including the objects of perceptions, and he did not take his Kantianism to be a barrier to developing a metaphysics of the phenomenal realm.

Compresence Bundle Theory Paper Jeffrey Grupp
The co-instantiation relation, C, is not a member of the bundle [i.e., the co-instantiation relation is not compresent with the properties of the bundle it bundles]...
If compresence is not bundled, and does not have properties, then the statement “the compresence that bundles F and G is a bundler of F and G”, is meaningless, a category mistake, truth-valueless, necessarily false, or perhaps contradictory, since “is a bundler” in the statement denotes a property of compresence.
If any bundle is bundled by another bundle, at every stage of the regress, the bundle at one stage is held together by another compresence bundle at the next stage, and each bundle stage depends on the next bundle stage of the regress.

 Bundle theory of identity (Hume)
The bundle theory of ontology asserts that objects are a bundle of their properties.
Furthermore bundle theory avoids the significant problems posed by the physical and psychological arguments for continuity of the self (discussed later).
The bundle of experiences that he talks of will be present even if other theories of identity are correct (for example, psychological or physical continuity) because we all store experiences as memories.

 Dualism (Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy)
His bundle theory is a theory about the nature of the unity of the mind.
Predicate dualism is the theory that psychological or mentalistic predicates are (a) essential for a full description of the world and (b) are not reducible to physicalistic predicates.
The core objection to bundle theories (see, for example, Armstrong (1968), 21-3) is that, because it takes individual mental contents as its elements, such contents should be able to exist alone, as could the individual bricks from a house.

Blob Theory: N-adic Properties Do Not Exist
A blob theory of ordinary concrete particulars is consistent with a mereological analysis of those particulars as wholes constituted by separable parts; but a blob theory renders concrete particulars structureless entities with no internal differentiation of properties and relations within those concrete particulars.
The tie in substance theory (where properties do not tie to one another, but tie to the internally bare particular) is called the exemplification tie; and in bundle theory (where properties tie to one another) the tie is called the compresence tie (or it is sometimes called the compresence relation).
Bundle theories offer an alternative description of ordinary objects, and, as discussed in the introduction, bundle theory is apparently the only other theory about the property possession of ordinary objects that we are currently offered by metaphysicians.

They would instead have it that particulars are bundles of properties, universals or tropes, depending on the particular flavor of bundle theorist.

Well, it depends on what sort of bundle you're talking about (or in the usual jargon, what category you're dealing with.) More precisely, we assume that all the fibers are objects in some category, and demand that they all be isomorphic--- every category comes fully equipped out of the box with a notion of isomorphism.
A *principal G-bundle* is a fiber bundle where the fibers are sets on which G acts both freely and transitively.
Bundle theory interrupts: "Don't use a coordinate system, use a *section* of the bundle!" (Such has been one of the lessons of bundle theory over the years: coordinate systems are more-or-less equivalent to sections.

The theory of superpotentials for the transition moduli of vector bundles is of importance in Ekpyrotic theory and is currently under study.
However, the holomorphic vector bundles on the visible (and hidden) branes also have moduli, and it is of physical relevence to compute their superpotentials as well.
c) Given the bundle moduli superpotential discussed previously, we are studying the associated bundle Kahler potential and potential energy and to use these results, as well as the potential for the separation moduli of the branes, to discuss the dynamics of the brane collision in detail.

 Blob Theory
Specifically, I argue that theories of property possession involved with the bundle theory and substance theories of objects involve contradiction.
Blob theory is the philosophical position that the properties of things, such as the properties of the objects that we experience in our ordinary empirical life (colors, extension and solidity of objects, etc.), do not exist.
Blob theory is of course in stark opposition to our empirical experience, but interestingly, blob theory appears to apparently have much in common with the theories of what reality is like at the quantum level (at the tiniest level of reality that we know to exist).

String theory is a term being used in unified particle physics now, and certainly virtually everybody working on unified field theory today is essentially working on some version of a fiber bundle theory, mathematically speaking.
And fiber bundle theory started to be worked out in the thirties, and developed very rapidly in the fifties, and we're only now really beginning to apply it in a big way in physics.
And if your theories are what you claim that they are, and if they become recognized at that level, it would seem to me undoubtedly you would be eligible for a Nobel Prize, or the highest kind of award that they would give to physicists.

The Bundle Theory: According to bundle theory, a "thing" is really just a collection of properties that happen to be coexisting.
So according to bundle theory a thing isn't a bunch of properties adhering in a substance, it is just a bunch of properties in the same place/time location.
The Substance Theory: According to this view, a thing is composed of various properties plus an underlying substance to which these properties belong.

 Notes on Derek Parfit
Ego theories come in different flavors, but all of them claim that what it is to be the same person over time is for some single ego, substance, subject of experiences or what have you to persist over time.
Hume was perhaps the first bundle theorist in the Western philosophical tradition (though my uneducated guess is that certain medieval thinkers may have held similar views) but Parfit points out that the Buddha also held a bundle theory.
If by the "Ego Theory," Parfit means a theory that posits some special metaphysical entity that knits the parts of the person together into a unity -- a soul or mental substance or some such thing -- then we might grant, at least for the sake of the argument, that there is no such thing.

 Psychological Continuity
The bundle theory asserts that there is no 'I' or owner of these experiences, just a set of experiences related by proximity, similarity and causality.
It seems logical to suppose that the theory does not construct identity as a physical object in its own right that continues, but if this is the case then the theory implies that identity is constructed with reference purely to physical properties of the person.
Thus Hume believed that his 'bundle' of experiences associated only in that they were proximate, causally related and had a common thread formed his self.

 Math Newsletter: String theory
But no matter how physical laws came to be generalized (e.g., in the theory of general relativity, quantum mechanics, or gauge theory), the still more abstract mathematical language needed to express them had usually already been developed for non-physical reasons (e.g., differential geometry, functional analysis, or bundle theory, respectively).
Physically, the five string theories may be viewed as limits of a single as yet unknown "M-theory," and hence are related one to another by "string dualities." Identifying these via a string duality sometimes results in an equivalence between an easy problem (computation is feasible) and a hard problem (undeveloped mathematics).
Whatever its eventual status as a physical theory of quantum gravity, the inevitability of string theory as a mathematical theory of the highest order is hard to dispute.

CFT, Gerbes and K-Theory in Oberwolfach, V | The String Coffee Table
There is a 2-gerbe analog of the well-known argument that the coupling of the 1+1D string to the KR 2-form 1-gerbe connection leads to its endpoints being coupled to a nonabelian (twisted) 0-gerbe (=bundle on the D-brane).
In the bundle gerbe way of looking at gerbes this sort of picture of sections and the like is pretty much obscured (as far as I am concerned, at least).
Note though, as I have remarked before, that the concept of a categorified vector bundle (and, more generally, that of a categorofied associated bundle) is unfortunately still much less studied than that of a categorified principal bundle (whose typical fibre is (isomorphic to) a group).

 Natural operations in differential geometry
The vector bundle $\La^kT^*M$ is in fact the value of a functor, which associates a bundle over $M$ to each manifold $M$ and a vector bundle homomorphism over $f$ to each local diffeomorphism $f$ between manifolds of the same dimension.
But the theory of natural bundles and natural operators clarifies once again that jets are one of the fundamental concepts in differential geometry, so that a thorough treatment of their basic properties plays an important role in this book.
Hence the classical bundles of geometric objects are now studied in the form of the so called lifting functors or (which is the same) natural bundles on the category $\Mf_m$ of all $m$-dimensional manifolds and their local diffeomorphisms.

Introduction - String Theory and Mathematics Workshop - SIMUW 2005
But no matter how physicists generalized physical laws (for example, in the theory of general relativity, quantum mechanics, or gauge theory), mathematicians had already developed the appropriate mathematical language (differential geometry, functional analysis, or bundle theory, respectively).
For instance, we should be able to combine quantum theory, which studies very small things (like electrons), and general relativity, which studies gravity and often considers very large things (like stars) to form a new theory of quantum gravity.
String theory is one attempt at a physical theory of quantum gravity.
