The County of Örebro with its 274 000 inhabitants who live in 12 municipalities is the main area of responsibility for the Örebro County Council.
The County Council, however, is an authority elected directly by the inhabitants of the county.
The County Council is responsible in providing support and services for certain groups of physically disabled, child and youth rehabilitation, adult rehabilitation, a sign language interpreting centre and a centre for technical aids.
