Patterson, visited the Election Commission of Pakistan in Islamabad where she met with the Chief Election Commissioner, Justice (Retd) Qazi Muhammad Farooq, and issued a statement for the media. |
 | | In her statement, the Ambassador said that the United States is deeply disturbed by the Proclamation of Emergency in Pakistan and urged the CEC to announce the election schedule as soon as possible to reassure the people of Pakistan and the international community that the government remains committed to holding elections on schedule. |
