Gando, Jiandao, and Kantō are the Korean, Chinese, and Japanese pronunciations of a name (間島) that refers to parts of Manchuria populated by Koreans.
Jiandao Province (間島省) was also one of the provinces of Manchukuo, a World War II-era Japanese puppet state in Manchuria.
North Korea and South Korea recognize the region as a part of China, but there are some groups in Korea that claim the region as a historical part of Korea.

One problem was the presence of some one million ethnic Koreans on "Chinese" territory, in the area known as "Jiandao" in Chinese and "Kando" in Korean.
The solution to the "Jiandao problem" was resolved during the midst of the Korean War in 1952, when the Yanbian Korean Autonomous Zone was established as the first ethnic autonomous area in the PRC.

The site is kinda funny, because, some Taiwanese sites says Kendo is originated in China too, but they said it in a different way.
THey said the theory and concept originated from China, as there were documentations about 'jiandao' (kendo) from around 1000BC.
They don't completely leave out the fact that kendo as we know it right now is japanese.
