In 1889 behaalde hij zijn diploma voor tekenonderwijs op op lagere scholen en in 1892 behaalde hij het diploma dat hem recht gaf om ook op middelbare scholen tekenonderwijs te geven.
Mondriaan kreeg in Parijs de kans om aan vele internationale tentoonstellingen deel te nemen en hij ontving vele lovende kritieken.
