The president must be a natural-born citizen of the United States (or a citizen of the United States at the time the U.S. Constitution was adopted), be at least 35 years of age, and have been a resident of the United States for 14 years.
The president, the Constitution says, must "take care that the laws be faithfully executed." To carry out this responsibility, the president presides over the executive branch of the federal government — a vast organization numbering about 4 million people, including 1 million active-duty military personnel.
John Tyler, born March 29, 1790, was the first president born after the adoption of the U.S. Constitution, meaning that all those born after him had/have to be a natural-born citizen of the United States in order to become president (Zachary Taylor was born on November 24, 1784, before the Constitution was adopted).

The war in Iraq has so far cost USA 150 billion dollars and claimed at least 1,300 USA lives, yet when USA President George Bush in his second inaugural speech called for worldwide freedom he avoided any mention of Iraq.
Vice president Cheney, Mr Chief Justice, President Carter, President Bush, President Clinton, members of the United States Congress, reverend, clergy, distinguished guests, fellow citizens on this day, prescribed by law and marked by ceremony, we celebrate the durable wisdom of our Constitution and recall the deep commitments that unite our country.
I am grateful for the honour of this hour, mindful of the consequential times in which we live and determined to fulfill the oath that I have sworn and you have witnessed.
