The Reading Company set aside four T-1 Northerns that were used on the very popular 1960s excursions known as the "Reading Rambles." T-1 #2101 went on to greater fame as one of three steam engines to haul the 1976 Freedom Train.
Locomotive #485 arrived on the Reading in June, 1952, one of 33 ALCO 1600hp RS3's purchased during a diesel-buying spree.
It and its siblings were the first "road-switcher" diesel locomotives purchased by the Reading.

One school district in southwestern Pennsylvania -- Midland in Beaver County -- had all 22 of its third-graders proficient or advanced in math, one of only six districts in the state to have one grade level -- all third grade -- at 100 percent in math.
Clairton is at the bottom in fifth-grade reading with 16 percent of its students scoring proficient or advanced.
This time, eighth-grade reading had the biggest increase, 6.6 percentage points while smaller decreases were noted in fifth-grade math and reading and eighth-grade math.
