  Sanitarium
Sanitarium is an adventure game along the lines of dark games such as Beneath a Steel Sky and Dark Earth: it delves into the depths of human fear and sanity (or rather, insanity).
Sanitarium is a very stylish, very cool and dark adventure game, where you are trying to find your identity and figure out the mystery of the world you are thrust into.
Sanitarium's environment is pretty big, so you won't be able to finish this game easily and the game is more exciting and challenging that way since you're walking into newer territory.

Puzzles in Sanitarium are generally inventory-related and serve to push the unpredictable action of the story forward.

Sanitarium's success from its Active Directory installation was a result of carefully thought-out planning of Domain Name System structures, forest, tree, domain and site hierarchies, and a insightful understanding of the way both legacy and future systems such as Exchange 2000 will integrate into the overall network.

While, visually, Sanitarium is nothing special, its intriguing story and twisted plot make it one of the most original games yet.
Playing Sanitarium is made extremely simple and involves clicking the mouse to move, use item, talk etc. The only drawback I found was with movement: when the player clicks at a certain point where he wants to move, the character makes a straight line to that point (while the mouse is held down).
All action sequences are pretty basic, involving the use of an object on an enemy while moving around to avoid its attack.

These flaws aside though, Sanitarium is still a pretty good adventure game, saved by its good story and some genuinely creepy, atmospheric elements.
