| | POLANA STRATOVOLCANO |
 | | Composed of the relics of three superposed stratovolcanoes (lithostratigraphically defined by various formations and members) - the Šútovka Stratovolcano (lower structure), the Bobrovo tuffitic rhyodacitic volcano and caldera (middle structure) and the Veľká Detva stratovolcano and Kyslinky erosive caldera (upper structure), this volcanic centre has a complex, polygenetic structure and stage development. |
 | | The Šútovka stratovolcano, whose development spanned a time of some 260 000 years, is composed of pyroclastics, epiclastics, sparse intrusive- extrusive breccias and lava flows of amphibole- pyroxene andesites and lesser pyroxenic andesites. |
 | | The basal part of the upper structure of the Veľká Detva Stratovolcano - the Abčina Formation and its Hučava Member, situated closer to the centre - are composed of agglomerates, pyroclastic flows, lahars and scarce amphibole-bearing pyroxenic andesite lava flows. |
