Revealing mistakes: When Superman is catching the cat burglar falling down the side of the skyscraper, his cape (also note the burglar's flashlight) is flat against his body revealing the tilt camera special effect.
Superman's childhood and most of his teen years are completely skipped over, however, Jeff East gives an excellent portrayal of the teen Clark Kent, who is only beginning to discover the real extent of his powers.
It was certainly his greatest role, and although he overplayed the nerdy and fumbling Clark Kent, and his Superman sometimes pauses to deliver silly platitudes, he does so with an air of wry amusement.

Superman is a fictional character regarded as one of the most famous and popular comic book superheroes of all time, and one of the first to embody several of the aspects modernly associated with them.
Superman is effectively born on Earth and is as much a son of Earth as of Krypton.
Superman is also vulnerable to magic; however, this is not used in his stories as commonly as Kryptonite, and the vulnerability has been at best hazily defined.

Superman saves the day by dragging the plane to an airfield, as represented by shots of a transparent airliner superimposed over aerial shots of Bombay at night, inter-cut with shots of Jor-El casting his arms about.

Superman 64 was often held up as an example of everything wrong with gaming at the time.

The sequel to Superman the movie was almost as good, and I say that having 20 years to think about it.
The first Superman movie in my humble opinion was probably the best movie ever made, at the least the most spectacular, and it makes it hard to watch Superman IV with an open mind without expecting to much from it.

Superman: (John Williams) If anyone could successfully follow such scores as Close Encounters of the Third Kind and Star Wars with yet another Oscar-quality score the next year, that person would be John Williams.
Instead, Superman is without doubt a classic effort by Williams, and is certainly more than worthy of the attention paid to it most recently by Varèse Sarabande and Rhino/Warner.
