Quittapahilla Creek (nicknamed the "Quitti") is a tributary of Swatara Creek, approximately 25 mi (40 km) long, in south central Pennsylvania in the United States.
From the late 18th century to the mid 19th century, the creek was used as part of the route of the Union Canal, which connected the headwaters of the creek with Tulpehocken Creek, a tributary of the Schuylkill River.
By the late 20th century the creek had become polluted from steel mill waste.

Swatara was recommissioned on 24 December 1879 at Boston Navy Yard and departed on 21 January 1880 for the Far East.
Swatara called at many east Asian ports during her Asiatic Squadron duty, including long stays at Shanghai, Chefoo, and Yokohama.
Reassigned to the Asiatic Squadron, Swatara departed from Port Stanley on 11 March 1889 for Cape Horn and the Pacific.

 Water Management
A team of international experts resided in the Spring Creek Watershed for a week last September with the specific mission of preparing recommendations for the watershed, (in response to the previously identified issues.) A meeting of experts was held on September 19, 1996, with support for land acquisition.
Although several areas of the creek have been noticeably degraded by pollution, it is the fact that a large portion of the creek is relatively unaffected that has drawn the attention of DEP for this effort.
French Creek has drawn attention from local colleges and special interest groups for many years, however it wasn't until the spring of 1995 that a dedicated effort outside of DEP was undertaken.

Despite unanimous opposition from citizens, township supervisors voted in January to change the zoning of the Espenshade property, adjacent to the park, on Swatara Creek, from agricultural conservation to village residential.
Very importantly, the lost opportunities to conserve open land on a creek in an important watershed and to add needed parkland in an area of planned development (as called for in township Parks and Recreation Master Plan) are forever lost.
