Thomas Gravesen - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Thomas Gravesen (born March 11, 1976) is a Danish professional football (soccer) player who operates as a defensive midfielder for Spanish La Liga side Real Madrid.
Born in Vejle, Gravesen's career started in 1995 with hometown club Vejle Boldklub (VB) in the Danish Superliga, alongside a handful of youths making it through the VB youth scheme, including good friend Kaspar Dalgas.
At VB, Thomas Gravesen would play both as a sweeper and defensive midfielder, and after he won silver medals in the 1996-97 Superliga season, Gravesen moved to German team Hamburger SV in 1997.

Gravesen was at the centre of things right from the off against Sweden, spreading his decisive, accurate and clever passes around, and even though he has been injured for over a month before the Championships and currently is a little rusty, the entire Danish game was built around the stocky midfielder.
Gravesen is a model of consistency when playing for Denmark and considering his enthusiasm on the field and willingness to fight for every ball, combined with his excellent vision - only matched by a handful of players all over the world - he is the most important player on the Danish team.
Gravesen is reluctant to sign, having realised that the chance for him to play Champions League football or simply towards the top of the league at Everton is a mere illusion.

Today, Thomas Gravesen, after a period of turbulence in the media and a dramatic change of club, has settled in the Spanish capital well and has decided to tell his story.
My version is the account of a high profile move to a new club and a life dedicated to football in which career ambitions and the will to win have been the constant driving force.
But it’s also the story of a proud, loyal, slightly shy young man who is still self-conscious when he runs into the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu in Madrid.
